SLEEPS 5/6 One double and one twin bedroom (with pull out additional bed), both upstairs with ample storage. Bedroom 2 has a wall mounted TV. There is a sofa bed in the lounge.
KITCHEN DINER Well equipped kitchen space so you can prepare as much or as little food as you wish! Really spacious and characterful hub of the home. With fridge/freezer, electric cooker, toaster, kettle, nespresso coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher. We provide some pantry essentials (for example salt, pepper, cooking oil, tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets). A sociable dining table that comfortably sits 6.
SHOWER ROOM Downstairs with electric shower, washbasin and toilet.
LOUNGE Comfy sofa, armchairs, television, electric fireplace, games, books and lots of local information. The perfect room to relax.
PARKING With parking just a few metres from the front door, it couldn't be more convenient. There is also plenty of free roadside parking in the village.
We also offer a lock up for the guests use should you want to safely store bikes, canoes or fishing equipment.
OUTDOOR SPACE A small gravelled area out the front, perfect for a refreshment and watching village life pass by.
Shop Cottage is a very well presented self catering cottage that was converted from part of the old village shop in 2017 to provide spacious accommodation for up to six people. The cottage is on two levels and has a downstairs lounge, kitchen/diner, shower-room and upstairs contains the two double size bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with twin beds.
The alterations where done in a way as to keep as much of the charm of the the building as possible so the lounge has kept it’s flooring and the kitchen diner retains its beams and vaulted ceilings and the sloping floors upstairs all add to the character of the cottage.
The cottage has Wifi, Freeview TV, maps, local information, games etc
Local Area
The Wye Valley is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Goodrich is a lovely village conveniently situated between Ross on Wye (just off the M50) and Monmouth just off the A40 and so is ideally placed for visiting the The Forest of Dean, The Brecon Beacons, Hay on Wye, Abergaenny,The Malvern Hills, Hereford, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol etc.
Having a car to explore the area will ensure you have the freedom to discover and do all you want.
There are some lovely pubs with excellent cuisine in the local villages and restaurants in the local towns. There are plenty of shops to explore with many vintage, second hand and antique shops, high street chains and individual boutiques.
